2026 All-WWPA Team announced, Salem’s Repinz earns Player of the Year

2026 All-WWPA Team

The Western Water Polo Association (WWPA) all-conference team has been revealed ahead of April 10-12's WWPA Women's Championship in Irvine, Calif.

Twenty-eight student-athletes were honored for their regular-season performances via a conference-wide vote by the WWPA's seven head coaches. CUI led the conference with six selections while Cal State Monterey Bay secured five.

The 2026 edition of the All-WWPA team features a combination of experience and young talent. The WWPA hadn't seen a freshman named to the First Team since 2019; this year, there are two.

East Region champion Salem earned two of the top three individual awards, with Courtney Repinz winning Player of the Year and Jeff Passwater being named Coach of the Year. Concordia freshman Mia Hueston helped the Golden Eagles to a West Region title in their first WWPA campaign and took home Newcomer of the Year.

Repinz is in the process of capping a stellar four years in the hills of West Virginia. The South African earned All-WWPA First Team honors for the first time after securing Second Team (2025), Honorable Mention (2023 and 2024) and All-Freshman (2024) honors over her first three seasons.

She led the conference in total points (98), points per game (4.9) and assists per game (2.1) while finishing second in assists (43), steals (40) and goals per game (2.8). She earned WWPA Offensive Player of the Week twice, first after a 30-point performance at the VMI Invitational and then after a 28-point, 4-0 weekend at the WWPA Erie Classic.

Repinz is the first Salem player to be named WWPA Player of the Year since Chloe Woodbine in 2021.

Passwater was given the WWPA Coach of the Year nod following his fourth regular season as Salem's head coach. The Tigers beat five NCAA Division I schools and finished the regular season on an eight-game winning streak. Salem went perfect in conference play (4-0) and averaged 16.75 goals per game in the process.

Hueston's first year on the Irvine campus lifted the Golden Eagles the entire year. She led CUI in points (79) and goals (58) -  both top-five in the WWPA. The Sydney native earned WWPA Offensive Player of the Week after a strong performance at the Triton Invite, where she had a hat trick and a pair of assists in an upset of No. 19 UC Santa Barbara.

The WWPA's leading goal scorer, Gwendolyn Pidd, was named to the First Team during her sophomore year. Her 61 goals and 73 points led the Eagles within a game of the West Region title, and she earned WWPA Offensive Player of the Week twice (April 7 and March 24).

Bella Morquecho is the only returning player to the WWPA First Team. The 2025 WWPA Newcomer of the Year, Morquecho earned her second First Team accolade after finishing top-five in goals (54) and goals per game (2.1). She earned WWPA Offensive Player of the Week on Jan. 27 after leading the Bearcats during Arizona State's Malmsten Invitational.

Cal State Monterey Bay freshman Olivia Gutierrez announced her presence in Seaside with a bang. The San Diegan finished second in the WWPA in points (94) and assists (51) while leading the conference in sprint wins (92) and sprint win percentage (.876). She was recognized for her great play at the Claremont Convergence with her first WWPA Player of the Week award on March 11.

Fresno Pacific's Emma Cook will top off her senior year with an All-WWPA First Team accolade, the first all-conference distinction of her collegiate career. Her 44 goals and 1.8 goals per game were both ninth-most in the conference.

No team is complete without a dominant defense, and that's just what Jaden Soto provided the Golden Eagles during her junior year. The Murrieta native led the WWPA in steals (56) and was second in save percentage (.540). She earned WWPA Defensive Player of the Week in back-to-back weeks (March 3 and March 10) and also earned a spot on the WWPA All-Defensive Team.
